Parliament on vacation due to election campaign

Moldovan MPs disrupted their legislative activity for a period of two weeks to participate in the election campaign for the local general elections scheduled for June 3. Vice-speaker of Parliament Maria Postoica announced this fact during the sitting of the Parliament on Friday, specifying that the exact date of the next sitting will be announced later. At present, seven political parties are in the Parliament, and each of them participates in the local elections, including those to be held in Chisinau, where, according to analysts, “the big battle will be fought”. Five MPs run for mayor, of whom four are running for Chisinau Mayo, and another MP runs for Calarasi Mayor. Also, several MPs run for local councillors.
