The extra-parliamentary Social Democratic Party informs that the leaders of the Alliance for European Integration (AEI) agreed to announce the date of the dissolution of Parliament the next days and this date may be October 1. The PSD considers this decision is an accomplishment of civil society, which did not allow the member parties of the Alliance to continuously usurp the state power, Info-Prim Neo reports. A statement issued by the PSD on July 30 says the leaders of the AEI realized they will commit a strategic mistake with serious repercussions if they do not announce the dissolution date before the referendum. “Therefore, in order to appear sincere and regain at least a part of the people’s trust, the Alliance decided to announce the dissolution date. As far as we know, this is October 1, 2010,” the Social-Democrats say. According to the PSD, the Moldovan people do not trust the parties that formed the AEI because there is no cohesion between them when they take actions. “This distrust will increase catastrophically if the present administration continues to usurp the state power by using illegal schemes to arbitrarily amend the Constitution, will hide the fact that they have worked illegally since December 7, 2009, will refuse to announce the date of the dissolution of Parliament and the date of early legislative elections in the immediate future,” the statement says. The AEI has not yet announced the date when the Parliament will be dissolved. Acting President Mihai Ghimpu said earlier that after the September 5 constitutional referendum, he will lodge an application with the Constitutional Court and ask it to pronounce on the necessity of dissolving the Parliament. Deputy Speaker Alexandru Stoianoglo stated a month ago that the legislative body will be dissolved in October, while the leader of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Mihai Godea said in a TV program that the early elections will take place on November 14.
