The former  government officials who were dismissed for violating the Constitution or on suspicion of acts of corruption will be unable to hold diplomatic passports for life. A bill to this effect, proposed by the Communist MPs, was passed by Parliament in the first reading, IPN reports.

According to the authors of the bill, the legislation provides that the former heads of Parliament and Government and their wives/husbands hold diplomatic passports for life.

The Lib-Dems noted that Parliament earlier dismissed Prime Ministers based on unsubstantiated statements and by political vote and proposed that all the government officials, after completing their duties, should be deprived of the right to hold diplomatic passports for life, not only those who were fired.
