Legal acts dating from different periods, photos and protocol presents received by MPs in time have been exhibited in the Parliament’s Museum that was opened in the legislature’s building on May 23, 2017, IPN reports.

Head of Parliament Andrian Candu said the exhibits include documents and pictures showing how the legislative body developed. “There are also presents, signs of friendship, messages from the friends and partners of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova. We will try to make this museum a place where the children could come to better understand the role of the legislature in the Republic of Moldova,” stated the Speaker.

Ala Marinescu, head of the Parliament’s secretariat, said that among the exhibits are the first laws adopted by the legislative body in the 1990s and the extract of the shorthand report on the adoption of the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Moldova. “We have books with autographs given to ex-Heads of Parliament and books signed by MPs. There are presents received by the members of Parliament during official visits. We have a rich museum,” stated Ala Marinescu.

The museum has been inaugurated in connection with the Days of Parliament on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the legislature’s foundation.
