The Parliament building was illuminated this evening in the colors of the Ukrainian flag. The gesture marks three years since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, IPN reports.
Additionally, MPs and staff members of the Parliament Secretariat lit candles in memory of the war’s victims.
On Sunday evening, the European Commission building was also illuminated in the colors of the Ukrainian flag. The EU reaffirmed its unwavering support for the country that Russia invaded three years ago.
According to international media, the war—consistently referred to by the Kremlin as a "special military operation for denazification and demilitarization" of Ukraine—stretches across hundreds of kilometers of front lines, has devastated vast areas of the country, killed tens of thousands, and displaced millions. Despite expectations, Ukraine has endured in an existential fight for survival, backed by a steady flow of Western military assistance.
