A new MP took up duties. This is Aliona Babiuc whose seat of MP was validated by the Constitutional Court. She entered Parliament on the Communist ticket, but was earlier excluded from the Party of Communists by a decision of the party’s Political Executive Committee, IPN reports.

Head of the Communist parliamentary group Inna Supac said that given the Political Executive Committee’s decision to exclude Aliona Babiuc from the PCRM, their group now has six MPs and Aliona Babiuc does not form part of it.

Using her right to reply, Aliona Babiuc said that after a large number of persons left the Party of Communists, what’s left of the old party is nothing else but a political group that destroyed the previous party. She noted she obtained the seat of MP based on the electors’ vote of confidence and will continue to represent their interests in Parliament.
