The legislative body passed in the second reading the bill by which the construction company Glorinal is exempted from paying the debt of about 25 million lei to the state budget, IPN reports.

Under the bill, the company’s debt was forgiven in exchange for the state debt to Glorinal, which reconstructed and restored the Curchi Monastic Complex.

The Curchi Monastery, which is situated in the forest Codrii Orheiului, is one of the most important monuments of the Bessarabian architecture.

Parliament earlier also exempted Glorinal from the debt, but the Liberals challenged the decision to the Constitutional Court, arguing the initiative wasn’t endorsed by the Government. The Court ruled that the law was unconstitutional and the legislature returned to the bill after it was approved by the Cabinet.
