Parliament endorses 2009 medical insurances budget

The Parliament endorsed the Law on compulsory medical insurances for 2009, in the first reading Thursday, Info-Prim Neo reports. Thus, the amount is raised up to 7% of the salary, equally shared by the employer and employee. The cost of the insurance policy will be 2,637.60 lei, while it was 1,893 lei in 2008. The people buying their policies in the first three months of the year will enjoy a 50% discount. The incomes and expenditures are set to be 3.47 billion lei, up 31.2% compared to 2008. The incomes are expected to raise because of higher average salaries and from sales to physical persons. In 2009, the costs of all medical services will surge 30%. The state also increases the expenditures for compensated medicines by 35.2%. The Parliament is to adopt the 2009 medical insurance budget till the year-end.
