Parliament declares post of NBM governor vacant

The legislate body Friday declared the post of governor of the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) vacant given that Leonid Talmaci's term in office expired, Info-Prim Neo reports. Before putting the given issue to the vote, former Prime Minister, Communist MP Zinaida Greceanyi said that Leonid Talmaci deserves high praise for his merits and results achieved while heading the central bank. The leader of the parliamentary group of the PDM Marian Lupu thanked the governor in the name of the Alliance for European Integration. Leonid Talmaci had governed the National Bank for 18 years. His term in office expired on September 26.
