The Parliament Building in the evening of June 7 was surrounded by protesters who chanted “PDM – the people’s party”, “We want stability, not snap elections”, “Maia and Andrei – the people do not believe in tears”.  Dozens of police officers were deployed to the scene and these formed cordons to hamper access to the Parliament Building, IPN reports.

In a live video on Facebook from the Parliament Building, PAS leader Maia Sandu said the MPs of the Bloc ACUM are waiting for the Socialists’ decision concerning the subsequent actions. She voiced hope that the legislature’s sitting will take place later on June 7 and the package of laws that will start the fight against grand corruption and the process of de-oligarchizing the state will be adopted in this.

As to the protests mounted near the Parliament Building, the politician said this involves people mobilized by the Democratic Party that tries to intimidate them this way. “We call on the people not to allow to be provoked and intimidated and to stay far from the Parliament Building,” stated Maia Sandu.

The meeting of the National Council of the Party of Socialists that started at 3pm goes on. The National Political Council of the Democratic Party is to also convene.
