Parliament approves regulations on utilisation of agriculture subsidisation fund

The Parliament Thursday adopted the regulations concerning the way of using the resources of the 2008 fund for subsidising agricultural producers, Info-Prim Neo reports. A sum of 91 million lei of the 270 million lei fund will go to stimulate capital investments, including 23 million lei for the animal breeding sector and by 20 million lei to purchase agricultural equipment and machinery; to encourage investment in growing vegetables on protected land and to purchase irrigation systems and equipment; to buy equipment for rural small and medium-sized enterprises that process, dry and freeze fruit and vegetables and for refrigerator and packing rooms. Another 50 million lei will be used for subsidising the users of pesticides and mineral fertilizers. The same sum will be allocated for subsidising the agricultural producers that sell their own agricultural products on the domestic market. A sum of 30 million lei will go to stimulate investment in producing saplings and planting fruit-bearing trees and walnut trees. In 2007, the fund for subsidising agricultural producers totalled 240 million lei.
