Moldova will receive a 49,000 euros grant from the Council of Europe Development Bank. The money will be used to carry out a feasibility study and other preparatory activities for implementing a new social housing project. Parliament today ratified the grant agreement.
In addition to the social housing component, the project will also include renovation of student dormitories and public housing, and construction of nursing homes for the elderly and people with disabilities.
Thanks to a project implemented with the support of the Council of Europe Development Bank, to date 556 social housing units have been built in 12 districts. By the end of this year, 121 more homes will become available.
MPs appreciated the usefulness and social importance of the new social housing project. The agreement was ratified in the first reading unanimously by the Members attending the meeting.
