The administration of Parliament and the Government discussed the priorities for the immediate future, until the end of the current session of the legislative body, and for the autumn session, taking into account the bills put forward by the executive. The discussions took place within the second joint working meeting of the administration of Parliament and the Government that was held in the evening of July 1, IPN reports.
Speaker Igor Corman told the journalists that the meeting was a continuation of the first joint session of the legalities body and the executive. “We will hold meetings as many times as necessary in order to jointly set the priorities and coordinate our actions. We discussed matters, which I do not want to name ordinary. We discussed bills in essence,” he stated.
He also said that the bill on the financing of political parties came recently from the Government and was discussed in the joint meeting. “It is an important bill. We must bring things in order in this area and ensure transparency. I cannot say at what speed the debates will take place in Parliament, but this is surely an important bill,” stated Igor Corman.
Prime Minister Iurie Leanca said the priorities discussed in the meeting form part of Moldova’s European agenda, especially as regards the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU, and the bill on the financing of political parties is part of this agenda.
The Premier added that the Government’s agenda includes a bill concerning the agreements on lending of financial resources from the EBRD and the Government of Japan, which must be adopted by Parliament by the end of the current session.
The two officials said nothing about the bill on the work of the coalition that is stipulated in the agreement on the creation of the Pro-European Coalition, but underlined that the coalition must function effectively and it does so up till now.
