The parliamentary alliance pledges to ensure the political stability and Moldova’s modernization and to adopt the bills needed to implement the reforms agreed with the external development partners. In its February 25 sitting, Parliament adopted a statement on the stabilization and modernization of the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
Head of Parliament Andrian Candu, reading the statement, said that the political stability is an essential condition and the MPs of the alliance realize that the common interest of Moldova is more important than the group interests. “We will promote political stability, while the reform agenda will be made irreversible,” he stated.
The parliamentary alliance says it realizes that the seriousness of the European integration option depends on the adoption of reforms and bills agreed with the European partners. “We will implement the overdue measures and will support the implementation of the roadmap agreed with the IMF. We are convinced that the country’s credibility depends on the relations with the external partners,” said the Speaker.
The MPs of the alliance are also aware that the people’s confidence can be regained by doing reforms. The National Anticorruption Center, the National Integrity Commission and the Prosecutor General’s Office will be reformed so that they effectively fight corruption and are independent from the political class. “Nobody will be above the law. We pledge to adopt a complete package of laws that would ensure the safety of the financial-banking sector so that the people are never robbed again,” read Andrian Candu.
The alliance pledges to support the business sector so as to ensure the country’s development and economic growth. The MPs are also for the reunification of the country within which all the citizens of the country will be treated equally.
Communist MP Elena Bodnarenco said the given statement represents nothing at all because de facto this parliamentary alliance destroyed democracy and the correct structure of Parliament.
Liberal-Democratic MP Maria Ciobanu said the adoption of this statement is useless now given that Moldova is a captured state.
Valentina Buliga, of the Democratic group, said the given statement can unite somehow the representatives of the government so that these combine forces for the benefit of the people who are sick and tired of political statements and struggles.
