The Parliament of the Republic of Moldova adopted a statement by which it expresses its support for the people of Israel and condemns the terrorist attacks. The bill was adopted on Thursday by the votes of 75 MPs, IPN reports.
The sitting started with a moment’s silence in memory of the victims of the terrorist attacks. “These days, we are witnesses to bloody attacks on Israel and to terrible violence against civilians. The whole world has been shaken by the attacks that destroy the peace to which we got used over the last decades,” stated Speaker Igor Grosu.
The statement says that on October 7, 2023, the terrorist group Hamas staged a shocking and barbarous attack on the civilian population of Israel and the state of Israel. The Republic of Moldova makes common case with the states that express their solidarity with Israel and vehemently condemns the brutality of the terrorist group Hamas’s actions against civilian population, the massive missile attacks and massacring of civilians.
The statement condemns the barbarous practices of taking hostage, asking for their immediate and unconditional release. The Republic of Moldova’s Parliament makes common cause with the civilized world in support of Israel in its efforts to protect the own citizens and its right to existence.
The statement was initiated by a group of MPs of the Party of Action and Solidarity.
