The lawmakers on November 14 adopted a statement in support of the European integration process of Moldova, according to which the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU and its subsequent implementation represent the legal framework of the relations between Moldova and the EU and historical events for the country,” IPN reports.
Parliament committed itself to support the Government with a view to fulfilling the indispensable procedures for initialing, signing and implementing the Association Agreement with the EU. The Governemnt will make effort to sign and ratify the agreement by the end of the mandate of the current legislature.
The statement says the good relations with Russia, Ukraine, Romania, the U.S. and China will be maintained. The relations with the Parliament of the EU will be strengthened by holding thematic meetings with other European institutions and with the parliaments of the EU member states.
In the Vilnius Eastern Partnership Summit on November 28-29, Moldova is to initial the Association Agreement with the EU. The signing of the agreement is projected for the first half of the year, while its ratification by the end of 2014.
