Parliament adopts 2019 state budget

The legislative body on November 30 adopted the 2019 state budget, state social insurance budget and mandatory health insurance funds after giving them a final reading, IPN reports.

The state budget revenues were projected at 42.1bn lei. 88.6% of the revenues will represent taxes and duties. This is by 12.6% more than this year. The grants in budget support and for projects financed with foreign funds will total 1.9 billion lei.

The 2019 state budget provides for an expenditure of 47.6 billion lei. A sum of 1.024,1bn lei will be allocated for the Road Fund, 950 million lei for the national public road repair program, 900m lei for the National Agriculture and Rural Development Fund, 480m lei for the Energy Efficiency Fund, 289.9m lei for the National Ecological Fund, 220m lei for the National Regional Development Fund, 86.1m lei for the Population Support Fund and 47.8m lei for the Vine and Wine Fund.

The state social insurance budget next year will be 21.4bn lei. The social insurance contribution paid by employers working in the private sector, in higher education establishments and health facilities will be 18%, while that paid by emplpyers working in agriculture will be 12%. The individual contribution tariff will be 6%. The private individuals who work based on an individual contract signed with the National House of Social Insurance will pay a contribution of 9,456  lei a year, while the persons who own or rent farmland and cultivate it individually of 2,412 lei a year.

The mandatory health insurance funds for 2019 were projected at 7.3bn lei. The health insurance premium remained at the level of 9%, 4.5% of which is paid by the employer and 4.5% by the employee. The health policy next year will cost 4,056.0 lei, as in 2018.
