The legislative body accepted the resignation tendered by Vlad Plahotniuc after the adoption of the PLDM’s bill whereby the posy of First Deputy Speaker was liquidated, Info-Prim Neo reports. “I was invested by the Alliance for European Integration. I regret that this alliance stopped existing following the statements made by the Prime Minister and the joint vote of the Lib-Dems and the Communists. Thus, I see no reasons to keep this post and offer my resignation,” stated Vlad Plahotniuc. He urged Vlad Filat to come to Parliament and do the same. Immediately after Vlad Plahotniuc handed in his resignation, the legal commission for appointments and immunities prepared a bill to this effect and most of the MPs attending voted in favor. But before accepting Vlad Plahotniuc’s dismissal, the Liberal-Democrats insisted on voting on the bill by which a vote of no confidence is given to him. “The notoriety of Plahotniuc went beyond Moldova’s borders and makes the European partners to have doubts. The legislative body cannot be chaired by a person who endangers the people’s trust in authorities,” said Lib-Dem Tudor Deliu. The Liberal-Democrats and the Communists voted together in favor of giving Vlad Plahotniuc a vote of no confidence. This vote has no legal effect and represents only a political position. The Liberal lawmakers left the assembly hall, saying it seems to them there appeared a new alliance in Parliament.
