Democratic MPs Constantin Botnari and Iurie Cazacu vacated their seats. Parliament accepted their resignations in its March 11 sitting, IPN reports.
Raisa Apolschii, Democratic MP and head of the Parliament’s legal commission for appointments and immunities, said the two lawmakers tendered their resignations earlier. As a result, their seats are declared vacant and will be occupied by the next candidates from the list of the Democratic Party.
Mihail Gnatiuc and Valentina Rotaru are the next on the Democratic Party’s list of candidates for the parliamentary elections of 2014. The Democratic group has now 20 MPs after former Socialist lawmaker Lidia Lupu joined it recently.
