A group of MPs who sat in the first Parliament and voted for the Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Moldova and are also members of the Board of Directors of “Parlamentul '90" Association, urge the citizens on November 3 to go to the polls in large numbers and support Maia Sandu. "By voting for Maia Sandu, we continue to defend our independence, freedom and peace," reads the Association’s call addressed to the citizens.

In a news conference hosted by IPN, Anatolie Țurcanu, a member of the first Parliament, said that the November 3 vote is particularly important for everyone, regardless of social status, nationality, ethnicity or religion. "We are in front of a historic offer, which is a fundamental step towards modernization, meant to strengthen the irreversibility of the democratization processes, the assertion of independence and national unity, to build a state based on the rule of law," he stated.

The former MP noted that his mates of the Independence Parliament particularly appreciate the European community's openness to offer the chance for the country to join the family of European states. In this connection, the Association expresses its confidence that voters are aware of the historical moment lived by the country and calls on all the voting-eligible citizens to actively participate in voting.

"Let's vote for the President who, by winning the 2020 election, reopened the doors of Europe for Moldova, brought us unexpectedly closer to the European Union and civilized countries around the world, made known the Republic of Moldova from its most beautiful and courageous angles,” said Anatolie Țurcanu.

According to him, Maia Sandu unlocked foreign assistance, without which it would have been difficult for the country to overcome the crises of 2021. A hybrid war is being waged, with criminal actions aimed at diverting the course towards peace and freedom and leading the state into the arms of Russia, which can be deadly.

Former MP Nicolae Misail urged the people to go and vote in large numbers and support Maia Sandu. He believes that it is everyone's duty to unite and prove to the world that the Moldovans are a nation with dignity and verticality.

Vasile Zgardan, interim president of the Board of Directors of "Parlamentul '90", said that in addition to vote selling, there is now a risk that the independence and sovereignty of the state will also be sold. The purpose and duty of those who signed the independence document in 1991 is to call on the people to defend the country's independence, to save Moldova from the hands of those who want to subdue it.

Stefan Maimescu, a veteran of the diaspora, a signatory and voter of the Declaration of Independence, said that Maia Sandu and the diaspora in good faith took the road to EU integration because no progress was made in 30 years and the thieves wanted to lead the country to despair and war. By voting for Alexandr Stoianoglo, the people vote for the danger of bringing the war home.
