Children have transformed the fountains in parks into fine dipping areas. It is the best solution, they claim, for when the heat becomes unbearable. “It’s hot, and we want to cool off a bit. We came on a trip to Chisinau and want to get go back with pleasant memories. I don’t know if we’re allowed into the fountain, but we’ve seen many kids do it, so we entered it as well”, says Adrian Mocanu, from Cantemir, joined by several of his classmates. Even teenagers don’t hesitate in trying how a dip in the Central Park fountain feels. “I’m not going up to the center of the fountain, because I’d get lost among the smaller ones, but I couldn’t resist checking the water from here, from the edge” says a young girl, Ionela Manica. Meteorologists have issued a Code Orange heat advisory until June 22, with temperatures up to +38 degrees Celsius. Doctors recommend outdoor activity only between 11 am and 4 pm.
