Parents of holders of “Stephan the Great” order receive allowances

The parents of the participants in the war for defending the territorial integrity and independence of Moldova, who were awarded the order “Stephan the Great” posthumously, will receive nominal allowances of 500 lei. Such a measure is stipulated in a bill with amendments to the Law on Veterans that was approved by the Government, Info-Prim Neo reports. The MPs who put forward the legislative initiative consider the allowance represents recognition of the special merits of those killed in battle and assistance to their parents who are mainly elderly persons and remained without support. According to some reports, 132 “Stephan the Great” orders were awarded posthumously. The exact number of persons who will receive allowances and the method of distributing them are yet to be determined
