The parents of the three children who died in a house fire in Danu village of Glodeni district last night were at home. Mayor of Danu Mihai Ursu has told IPN that according to his information, the family went to a monastery and when they returned, the father and the children went to sleep. The woman remained to do some work in the yard. When she saw that the house was burning, he cried for help. The man went out to see what was going on. When he realized the house was on fire, he could not go back to save his children as the flames were too powerful.

The mayor said the family lived in a rented house. It had one room with a stove where all the five members slept. The flames extended very swiftly and fully destroyed the building. Only the walls remained. It was preliminarily determined that the fire was caused by the stove. The local authorities will financially help the family to bury the three children and will identify a home for the parents.

Educators of the local kindergarten said the family wasn’t a poor one. The seven-year-old girl attended the kindergarten and was an obedient child. The parents didn’t want to enroll the boy aged four at the kindergarten. The woman was on maternity leave with the third child.

Ludmila Condrat, press officer of the Glodeni and Falesti Police Inspectorate, said a criminal case was started over killing out of imprudence.
