A group of parents from the municipality of Balti ask that the encyclopedia “Sexual life. Larousse” should be withdrawn from school libraries as it propagates homosexuality, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In a news conference, the parents said that they do not want materials that can affect their children’s morality to exist in schools. They stressed that they educate their children according to Christian spirituality and morality, while the books that contain details about homosexuality, condoms and the sexual orgasm pervert the children.
“This encyclopedia does not educate the young generation. We cultivate the feeling of shame in our children,” said Andrei Avram, who has two children. Besides withdrawing the encyclopedia from school libraries, the parents demand that the organization Gender-Doc M, which defends the rights of the sexual minorities, should stop suing persons who argue against propagation of homosexuality.
Olga Ceaus, who is the mother of two, said that the theses stated in the encyclopedia “Sexual life. Larousse” run counter to her principles of life and education that she gained in the family and that she now transmits to her children. “The pictures in the book show sins, debauchery. If other parents want to join us call 069407057 so that we join forces,” said the woman.
The parents wondered why the Moldovan Metropolitan Church, which was very active in condemning the sinful acts of the Government, now keeps silent. They said that the inaction of his Holiness Vladimir is suspect and called on him to intervene and demand that the authorities modify the Law on Equality of Chances, while the people who condemn homosexuality should not be punished.
Parent and teacher Tatiana Ceban said the children absorb the information like sponges. Seeing in the book how a condom is put on, children aged 12-13 will be tempted to use it in practice. As to the Education Ministry’s statement that the encyclopedia was donated by Romania, Tatiana Ceban said that Moldova shouldn’t accept such presents.
The parents are ready to initiate a local referendum to ban the propagation of homosexuality in the municipality of Balti and to obtain the withdrawal of the encyclopedia “Sexual life. Larousse” from school libraries.
