Two minors from Anenii Noi, left without parental supervision, are suspected of a number of burglaries, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the Interior Ministry's press unit.
Most of thefts they committed in Nisporeni district, where they visited a relative. The Nisporeni police says they were choosing the dwellings to rob by a criterion: locked gates. Certain that the owners were not in, the suspects entered the house and took money and jewels. The minors robbed 9 dwellings in Nisporeni only and stole goods assessed at 25,000 lei.
The suspects have told the police they committed similar infractions in Balti town and in their native Anenii Noi district. They used to spend the money on entertainment and taxi drives.
The police finds one of the suspects lives with his grandmother, as his parents are jailed, the second one lives with only one parent, an alcohol addict.
If found guilty they may be fined up to 40,000 lei, or jailed up to 5 years, or perform community work.
The police recorded 1,152 offenses committed by minors last year, 762 of which were thefts.
