The surveillance committee of the PARE 1+1 program accepted 66 investment projects submitted by Moldovan migrants or their relatives of the first degree for financing, IPN reports.
According to the Organization for the Development of Small and Medium-Sized Companies of Moldova, which manages the program, investments of about 46 million lei will be made within the accepted projects that applied for grants of 12 million lei. Thus, 1 leu asked from the PARE 1+1 program can attract another 5 lei to the economy.
The applications for financing show that the Moldovan migrants who want to invest remittances in own businesses worked mainly in Italy (40%), and Russia (15%). They prefer to invest their savings in agriculture, namely hothouses, refrigerating rooms, animal farms; in industry: opening of bakeries, small companies for making construction materials, furniture, and briquettes from biomass; in the service sector: tourism, constructions. Most of the applications came from the central part of Moldova (55%). 13% were submitted from Chisinau.
The program’s budget for 2013 is 32 million lei. In the pilot stage in 2011- 2012, there were financed 124 investment projects. The grants offered to the beneficiaries totaled 22.5 million lei.
