On the occasion of World Health Day, the obstetric-gynecological operating department at Gheorghe Paladi Municipal Hospital has reopened after rehabilitation, IPN reports.
Six operating rooms have been provided with modern equipment and new operating tables, and the preoperative unit has been renovated.
“Although the department handles the most complicated surgeries in Moldova and admits pregnant women with serious conditions, the operating rooms, the hall, the sanitary blocks were in a damaged condition. The block has not been subjected to major repairs since the hospital was inaugurated in 1981”, remarked Chisinau Mayor Ion Ceban.
The rehabilitation has cost the municipal budget 7 million lei.
Each year, the operating department handles 3,700 gynecologic surgeries and assists 6,300 births.
