Chisinau is the host of the international dance competition “Chisinau Open 2024”, which is held at the Palace of the Republic on October 12 and 13. The event is organized by the World Dance Sport Federation “Codreanca” Dance Sport Club. The official opening ceremony will take place on Saturday evening, at 7:30 p.m., IPN reports.
The competition consists of a number of age categories and dance programs. During the day, the preliminary stages will be held and, in the evening, after the opening ceremony, the final rounds will follow. The Juniors will dance four dances of the Latino program: Samba, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, and Jive, and the Juniors and those of the Youth division will compete in the Standard program, with Slow Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, and Quickstep.
On the second evening of the competition, on Sunday, the final rounds will take place for the Juveniles who will dance Slow Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz and Quickstep. Those of the Juniors and Youth divisions will dance Latino: Samba, Cha Cha Cha, Rumba, Jive, and Paso-Doble.
Participants in the competition, depending on the category, pay a fee of €20 to €60.
