Paintings by Nichifor Sviristuhin displayed in French Alliance gallery

An exhibition of paintings by Nichifor Sviristuhin was opened Wednesday in the gallery of the French Alliance in Moldova. The exhibit includes almost 20 oils canvases and watercolors. The painter told Info-Prim Neo that he tried to render his emotions and feelings so that every painting represents a reflection of his soul. Nichifor Sviristuhin said he was glad that the people are more interested in arts and buy his works. Plastic artist Mihail Mungiu said Nichifor Sviristuhin is a talented painter. He wrote a letter of recommendation for him when he was accepted into the Union of Plastic Artists of Moldova. Vasile Ivanciuc, a member of the Union of Plastic Artists, said the vivid paintings made by Nichifor Sviristuhin correspond to the painter's lifestyle and character. Among those who came to the opening of the exhibition were students who long to become painters. One of them, sixth grader Felicia Ostap said she saw many exhibitions, but this one was special owing to the colors used in the paintings. The exhibit will continue until March 15.
