Pages of Chisinau’s history exhibited at Museum of Archeology

Archeological vestiges, monetary discoveries and written documents have been displayed at the National Museum of Archeology and Natural History. The exhibition themed “Evidence of Chisinau’s Past” is dedicated to the 575th anniversary of the first documentary attestation of Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the Museum’s director Eugen Sava, the aim of the exhibit is to familiarize the public with a series of archeological materials and written sources about the history of Chisinau, from the oldest times up to the start of the 20th century.
The exhibition “Evidence of Chisinau’s Past” was staged in cooperation with the Scientific Archive, the Cultural Patrimony Institute and the Zoology Institute of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova.
“What we did is a novelty. We have not yet exhibited the documents kept at the Scientific Archive. We displayed 52 of the 102 archive documents,” said Antonina Berzoi, director of the Scientific Archive of the Academy of Sciences.
A series of postcards and stamps dedicated to the 575th anniversary of the foundation of Chisinau were launched within the exhibition.
