Head of Parliament Andrian Candu suggested a series of legislative initiatives aimed at solving farmers’ problems. These were discussed in a meeting with representatives of famers associations and agricultural producers. According to the Parliament’s press service, Andrian Candu proposed drafting and adopting the bills by July 1, IPN reports.
One of the initiatives refers to the annulment of the income tax and the reinvestment of the made profit in developing the own business in agriculture. There will be created a profitable lending mechanism for farmers, while the subsidization procedure will be simplified and modified so that the subsidy will depend not on the invested sum, but on hectare. The method of calculating the prices of oil products could be modified. The Speaker said he will suggest allowing the agricultural producers to import oil products directly from refineries.
Alexandru Slusari, chairman of the National Union of Agricultural Producers Associations “UniAgroProtect”, said this package of measures is an important commitment. If this roadmap is not put into practice by July 1, the situation in agriculture will worsen. The meeting participants demanded increasing the agriculture subsidization fund and creating an agricultural loan guarantee fund.
