The president of the Party “Building Europe at Home” (PACE) Gheorghe Cavcaliuc was invited again to the Sângerei Prosecutor’s Office, at 10am on July 16, for being charged and informed about the completion of the investigation into the “brilliant green” case that is to be sent to court, IPN reports, quitting the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The PACE leader is accused of “hooliganism committed by two or more persons” and “instigation of acts of violence against persons”. Together with another four mates, he is to answer before the law.
Gheorghe Cavcaliuc was earlier also invited to appear before prosecutors, but he refused to go, arguing he was registered as a contender for the post of MP. He asked to suspend all the procedural actions in relation to him until after the elections, in accordance with Article 51 of the Election Code.
On April 6 this year, a number of PACE members splashed brilliant green on the deputy head of Sângerei district and the latter was hospitalized. These face a fine or a maximum jail term of five years.
Contacted by IPN for a comment, Victoria Kryukova, who is in charge of relations with the press at the Party “Building Europe at Home”, said Gheorghe Cavcaliuc will come with a reaction later.
