The reforms at the public TV channel Moldova 1, unlike the reforms at Radio Moldova, are stagnant, said the executive director of the Electronic Press Association (APEL) Ion Bunduchi. According to the expert, the main reason for such a situation is the delayed election of the new director of the TV channel, IPN reports.

“The changes at the radio station are more visible because the broadcast schedule was modified. The quality of the morning programs was improved. The TV channel also undergoes changes, but at a slower place. At least the manipulation and partisanship disappeared,” Ion Bunduchi told a news conference.

The expert said the implementation of the new pay grades system, based on honorariums and bonuses, is delayed. Radio Moldova is also stagnant in this area. “Radio Moldova was ready to implement the new salary system, but the administration decided to start these reforms concurrently,” stated Ion Bunduchi.

The expert said that three TV shows mentioned in the business plan of Moldova 1 haven’t yet appeared in the broadcast schedule, while the absence of relations with the national independent producers does not allow diversifying the range of products.

The findings were included in the fourth report on the monitoring of the national public broadcaster Teleradio-Moldova produced by APEL, which aims to contribute to the development of broadcasting in Moldova based on democratic practices.
