The co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) for Moldova recommend the political forces to take into account the recommendations of the Venice Commission when trying to identify a solution as regards the election of the head of state. Josette Durrieu told Premier Vlad Filat on April 6 that the financial support that will be provided to the Government of Moldova depends on the political stability, Info-Prim Neo has learned from the executive's pres service. According to the press release from the Government, Josette Durieu praised the Moldovan authorities for their efforts aimed at promoting democratic reforms and establishing good relations with the development partners, highlighting the progress made in the relations with the IMF and in fulfilling the national and foreign obligations. “The Republic of Moldova enjoys the European institutions' support. This is the result of a joint effort. We are ready to offer you assistance in continuation,” Josette Durrieu said. She also said that the Moldovan political forces must prove political maturity and identify an optimal solution to the constitutional crisis by taking account of the recommendations made by the Venice Commission. Prime Minister Vlad Filat thanked the CE for their support, stressing he hopes the steps taken by the Moldovan authorities and their partners will help overcome the monitoring stage soon. The PACE delegation visiting Moldova includes Josette Durrieu (France, the Socialist Group), Egidijus Vareikis (Lithuania, the Group of the European People's Party) and Artemy Karpenko, secretary of the PACE Monitoring Committee.
