PA BSEC intends to implement projects to develop Black Sea Ring Highway and transport on Black Sea

Two projects aimed at developing the Black Sea Ring Highway and transport on the Black Sea will be implemented in the near future. The announcement was made at the 32nd plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization (PA BSEC), Info-Prim Neo reports. “The projects are of a major importance to the area because the whole system of transport corridors will bring the Black Sea Region closer to the European Union and will help develop their mutually advantageous cooperation,” said Speaker Marian Lupu, the Chairman-in-Office of the PA BSEC. Lupu announced the intention to carry out a project to interconnect the power lines of the member states of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization. “This will contribute towards creating a safe and reliable energy market that will eliminate any danger of power shortage in the region,” said Moldova’s President Vladimir Voronin. “The development of transport networks, the energy development and the liberalization of trade will help increase the infrastructure potential in the Black Sea Region and will positively influence the processes aimed at improving social cohesion and insuring a balanced regional development, guaranteeing thus the stability, security and sustainable development of the area,” the head of state said. According to the BSEC President Eduard Nalbandian, Armenian Foreign Minister, the liberalization of trade and harmonization of the trade regimes of the member states will stimulate the economic progress and will promote the democratic reforms that insure development and prosperity in the region. The 32nd plenary session of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation Organization is taking place in Chisinau during November 3-5. Moldova holds the presidency of the PA BSEC. The meeting brought together representatives of the supreme legislatures of the 11 member states.
