Over 900 kilograms of out-of-date explosives and pyrotechnic devices found at a Moldova-Film Studio warehouse in Chisinau’s Telecentru neighborhood have been taken to a special site for safe disposal.
Chisinau Police spokesperson Natalia Stati has told IPN the special effects pyrotechnics had been lying abandoned at the warehouse for more than 30 years.
At the end of last week Interior Minister Andrei Năstase live-streamed to Facebook saying that the explosives were a great hazard and that a potential blast would theoretically had a radius of at least one kilometer.
Năstase said prosecutors were also present during the removal operation and that an investigation should be opened to identify those who had failed to eliminate the hazard for so many years.
