On July 1, all holders of entrepreneurial patents were obliged by law to switch over to independent activity and provide buyers with a receipt. Since then, over 90% of the over 4,000 patentees have transitioned to independent activity or LLCs, said Deputy Prime Minister Dumitru Alaiba, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization. Also, according to the official, over 2 million receipts totaling over 325 million lei have been issued since then, IPN reports.
“This sum of 325 million lei that we brought from the underground economy into the official economy is most important part. During only a few months, we fiscalized over 325 million lei, which is now part of the official economy. And there is still space here. We will continue to ensure this compliance because everyone must be equal. Consumers must also enjoy minimum protection in the form of this sales slip,” Dumitru Alaiba told a press briefing.
According to the minister, former patentees now work legally with cash registers, issue receipts to buyers. “Surely, compliance is not yet full and we admit this. But very often both I and my colleagues receive messages saying that what a great innovation – they received a receipt at the market. Of course, we still have to make effort to ensure full compliance, but we got things moving. We consider this reform is a successful one, even if, once again, in the implementation process, we will have to accelerate and ensure that absolutely every consumer receives a receipt either in the store or at the market,” said Deputy Premier Alaiba.
According to him, for 25 years this reform had been put off, but there was now enough determination to do this reform and to offer the people working in this area a civilized regime, an advantageous regime, free from bureaucracy.
Since July 1, all patentees have been obliged to switch over to independent activity and issue receipts to buyers. The costs for the cash register or the refurbishment of the commercial space are compensated by the state. A sum of 23 million lei compensatory payments was allocated.
