As many as 7,180 Moldovan citizens cast their votes at polling places abroad by 15.00, Chisinau time, Info-Prim Neo reports. The turnout of voters in Romania was the highest. A number of 1,185 persons voted at the Embassy of Moldova in Bucharest, while 619 persons at the consulate in the Romanian capital. The turnout was high in the Italian towns of Bologna (1,001 persons) and Rome (651 persons). By 15.00, 858 Moldovans cast their ballots at the Moldovan Embassy in Russia, 30 Moldovans voted in Washington and 11 persons in New York. The polling stations in Washington and New York opened at 14.00, Chisinau time. A representative of the Foreign Ministry, Vladimir Ghiletchi, said that the polling place in China, where there voted 20 Moldovan citizens, was already closed. He also said that the voting process at the 33 polling stations opened outside Moldova is productive and takes place without deviations from the Moldovan legislation.
