Over 6,000 trees will be planted in Chisinau today

The Chisinau City Hall will plant more than 6,000 tress and bushes as part of the National Greening Day themed “A Tree for our Eternity – 2010” on April 17, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the City Hall’s press office. A wide cleaning campaign will be carried out all over the green areas in Chisinau today. More than 3,000 persons will take part in the campaign, including representatives of state institutions, private companies, public organizations and students. At 8.30, employees of the Chisinau City Hall will plant trees in the wood-park “Butoias” in Buiucani district. Earlier this week, Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca called on the associations, institutions and nongovernmental organizations working in the city to take part in the cleaning campaign. The City Hall aims thus to support the volunteer activities, make the citizens more responsible and develop a civic spirit in the community.
