Over 500 workers involved in snow removal in Chisinau

More than 60 snowplows have cleaned the snow from the Chisinau streets, with 500 workers of the Public Amenities Division working on the secondary streets, pavements and access roads to the yards of apartment buildings. Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the head of the Public Transport and Communications Division Veaceaslav Tarna said 740 cubic meters of antiskid material had been spread on the most important streets of Chisinau last night and this morning. More antiskid material will be spread during the day if need be. The head of the Public Amenities Division Petru Gontea said the Chisinau administration asked the companies to clean the snow in front of the offices where they work. Sanitation workers will also clean the bus and trolleybus stations. A number of 250 trolleybuses and about 1,600 minibuses are now running on routes in Chisinau. The main intersections in Chisinau are supervised by traffic police divisions.
