Over 500 settlements to hold second round of local elections

The second round of local mayoral elections will take place in 513 settlements next Sunday, June 19. The ballots will contain the names of the two candidates, who polled the largest number of votes in the first round on June 5, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the Central Election Commission, the names of the candidates will be written according to the number of votes earned in the first round of voting, in descending order. In the settlements that will hold the second round, none of the candidates for mayor won more than 50% of the ballot on June 5. In Chisinau municipality, the post of mayor will be disputed by Igor Dodon and Dorin Chirtoaca, who earned 48.07% and, respectively, 46.51% of the ballot in the first round of voting.
