There are 525 vacant jobs of teacher in the education institutions of Chisinau municipality, IPN reports.
In a press release, the municipality said 125 teachers of physical education, music, Romanian language and literature, math, English and physics are needed in schools and lyceums and 400 educators, methodologists, music managers, logopedists, psychologists and defectologists are needed in kindergartens.
There is also a shortage of 414 non-teaching jobs, such as medical assistant, educator assistant, nurses, cooks or auxiliary cooks, dish and laundry washing persons, cleaners.
The General Division of Education, Youth and Sport signed a partnership agreement with the Teacher Training College “Alexei Mateevici” so as hire fourth-year students as educators. It is also cooperating with vocational schools for employing ancillary personnel, cooks and auxiliary cooks.
The Chisinau City Hall said the principals of primary and secondary education institutions accepted to increase the additional workload for teachers to 27 hours so as to fill the vacancies.
