Over 4700 consumers remained without natural gas due to debts

The supply of natural gas to over 4700 final consumers was stopped due to the non-payment of debts of over 17.7 million lei. The data were presented at a meeting for monitoring the activity of the companies affiliated to "Moldovagaz" company during January-September 2019, IPN reports.

Most debtors are domestic consumers - over four thousand people, who have accumulated debts of over 7.4 million lei. While over 550 non-domestic consumers have accumulated debts of over 10.3 million lei.

Between January and September 2019, natural gas supply contracts were concluded with over 33 thousand domestic consumers.

The chairman of the Board of Directors of "Moldovagaz", Vadim Ceban, mentioned during the meeting the need to optimize expenses and increase revenues. "Taking into account the fact that the cold season of the year has begun, more attention is required from everybody to meet the challenges and ensure the natural gas supply to all consumers of the country in a reliable, safe, uninterrupted manner, without breakdowns and incidents", said Vadim Ceban.

During January-September 2019, "Moldovagaz" supplied final consumers with natural gas in a volume of about 683 million cubic meters, amounting to 3252.6 million lei.
