Prosecutors said searches in the case of planning of public disorder were conducted in Chisinau and Hâncești and over 250,000 lei and other evidence, such as drafts with phone numbers of persons taking part in protests, mobile phones and a non-registered pneumatic gun, were consequently seized, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime and Special Cases, the money was earned from illegal activities and was to be used to recruit, transport and remunerate persons incited to stage public disorder. Among the seized items is a vegetal mass looking like hemp.
The case refers to the planning of public disorder since September 18 until present. People from different regions of the county, primarily young people with a criminal past, were allegedly transported to Chisinau and incited to commit new offenses.
The investigated offense carries four to eight years in jail.
Similar searches were carried out in Balti, Chisinau, Drochia and Ungheni a week ago. As a result, a sum of 380,000 lei that was to be used to recruit, transport and remunerate persons incited to stage public disorder was seized and eight persons aged between 23 and 41 were classed as suspects.
