More than 240,000 Moldovans working in Russia run the risk of being deported, Tamara Roshchina, of the consular section of the Russian Embassy in Chisinau, stated for the Russian press, quoted by IPN.

“Over 240,000 Moldovans violated the migration rules, had been on Russia’s territory without being registered or committed a series of administrative violations. Under the new migration rules, these persons risk being banned from entering Russia for a three-year period,” stated Tamara Roshchina.

She also said that according to the latest data, 573,000 Moldovan migrants were in Russia on March 31. The Russian authorities established that more Moldovans started to work legally. A number of 9,400 persons bought patents for economic activity in 2013. In the first three months of this year, there were submitted 42,000 applications for patents.

From January 1, 2014, the foreigners can stay in Russia for a cumulative period of 90 days during half a year.
