One more consignment of COVID-19 vaccines are to be shipped to Moldova through the COVAX Facility today, March 19. According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection, the lot consists of over 24,570 doses of Pfizer vaccine, IPN reports.

President Maia Sandu also delivered a message in connection with the arrival of the consignment of vaccines. By the end of March, Moldova will receive 46,000 doses through COVAX and another 50,000 doses of the donation made by Romania. President Sandu thanked the donors for the support and solidarity in these times that are difficult for everyone.

“I requested the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection to prepare the distribution of the doses to vaccination centers as efficiently as possible and to make sure that more people are vaccinated during one day. The vaccine saves lives and any day of delay means more infected persons and more lost lives. We continue to do our best to bring vaccines for as many people as possible. Until our turn to be vaccinated comes, I kindly ask everyone to be vigilant and responsible so as to protect our lives and health,” said Maia Sandu.

Until now Moldova received the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines donated by Romania and similar vaccines shipped through the COVAX platform. Recently, the Government announced that the United Arab Emirates donated 2,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine to Moldova-
