Over 200,000 lives claimed by COVID-19 worldwide

The number of infections with COVID-19 exceeded 3 million globally. The virus so far has caused about 207,000 deaths, IPN reports.

The largest infection figures were reported by the U.S. (987,300), Spain (226,600) and Italy (197,600).  These states are followed by France (162,100 infections) and Germany (157,700).

As many as 55,400 people died by now from COVOD-19 in the United State. Italy and Spain reported 26,600 and, respectively, 23,100 casualties. The death toll from the virus in France stands at 22,800, while in the UK at 20,700.

China, where the coronavirus outbreak started, has 82,800 cases of infection and 4,600 deaths.

In Moldova, there were confirmed 3,408 infections with COVID-19. The virus for 101 people proved fatal.
