More than 20 young people from Chisinau received the Municipal Youth Prize in science, technics, literature and arts, which is awarded annually by the General Education, Youth and Sport Division of the Chisinau Municipal Council. The winners of the contest were offered money awards, laureate diplomas and decorations, IPN reports.
The contest is aimed at stimulating and developing the intellectual and artistic potential of the young people. “We are trying to promote and encourage the young people to take part in this contest. The motivation process is very important and starts at school. A lot of the students who take part in the municipal contest submit their works to the national contest. This spirit provokes the young people to take part in international competitions too,” said the Division’s head Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb.
This year the contest involved 25 young people, 18 of whom received diplomas conferring the title of Laureate of the Municipal Youth Prize and by 10,000 lei. Several young people received decorations, while the European Student Association “AEGEE-Chisinau” was awarded the special prize.
The most valuable works and candidates with special performance, young people with high development potential and good standing in physics, law, economy, medicine, philology, history, biotechnology, ethnology, literature and acting are selected at this contest. The works were examined by an expert commission that consisted of specialists in these fields.
The contest for the Municipal Youth Prize in science, technics, literature and arts was instituted in 1996. A number of 2015 laureates received the prize so far.
