Over 20 villages of different regions of Moldova left without electric power

Over 20 villages of different regions of Moldova left without electric power as result of the snows of last night. According to Exceptional Situations Department, the electric power supply systems switched off automatically after the electric power lines were snowed up. Thus, at 9:00a.m., on Wednesday, 8 villages of the county Cimislia were left without electric power, by 3 villages in Hancesti and Anenii-Noi, by 2 villages in Nisporeni and Leova, and by 1 village in Ialoveni, Cantemir, Ciadar-Lunga. At the moment they work on reconnecting the villages and an area of the town Nisporeni to electric power supply system. The consultant of the Road management Department of the Ministry of Transport and Road Management, Nicolae Malcoci, said that in the morning all national roads were practicable. 214 road workers and 196 special equipments work to clear up the snow since last night. In municipality Chisinau, according to deputy head of the general public transport and communications department, Alexei Varlan, the majority of the itineraries were cleared of snow till morning, thus the transports circulates without any problem. Alexei Varlan noted that this night there were tested 12 trucks KAMAZ, purchased recently. The special cars have 3 functions – clear the road, and sweeps it and disseminates antiskid material. In the same time, 4 auto-graders were used to clear the snow, 10 tractors with brushes, and at the central department, work 2 antiskid material feeders, which ensures the technique for clearing the snow. The head of the Forecast Centre, Lidia Trescilo, noted that along the day, in northern counties will continue to snow. In the same time, in southern counties it will snow very seldom. The temperatrure will vary between zero degrees. The snows, but also the rains, will fall on Thursday, and on 3 March the weather will get cold significantly. At least until 5 March, in the night it will be 5-10 degrees bellow zero, and in the day 1-6 degrees below zero, Lidia Trescilo mentioned.
