Over 18,000 Chisinau students to rest in municipal summer camps

A sum of 22.5 million lei has been allocated this year for organizing the summer vacation in the camps of the municipality of Chisinau. As last year, the parents will pay only 20% of the tickets' price. The orphans and children from socially underprivileged families will rest in summer camps gratis. Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb, head of the municipal Division for Education, Youth and Sport, has told Info-Prim Neo that 21 million lei will go to purchase tickets to summer camps, while 1.5 million lei to repair the four camps that are municipal property, namely “Poenita Vesela”, “Alunelul”, “Ciresarii”, and “Neptun”. More than 18,000 students from the municipality will go to summer camps this summer. The fifth part of them will rest free of charge. The decision to allocate the money for the summer vacation was taken in the March 31 meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council. “For the first time in the last few years, the decision was reached so quickly,”said Tatiana Nagnibeda-Tverdohleb. The auction to select the summer camps will take place in May. Thirty-six day summer camps will be opened in the municipal schools this summer.
